Welcome to my website!! Here you will find copies of important handouts, homework sheets and information about my classroom policies. Plus, I am even able to provide links to some of the stories we read in class - you can print them out and make notes in the margins (as all good readers do.) However, please do not completely depend on this website for all your information; you still need to be alert and attentive in class. In addition, sometimes links come and go and you still need to bring your book home when there is a reading assignment. Plus, we all know that internet connections can be faulty at times. This website is meant to supplement, and not replace, the class. I will do my best to keep this as up-to-date as possible.
I'm excited to be teaching at Hale! I have experience teaching seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth and eleventh grade English. This is my eighth year teaching at Hale. Before I worked at Hale, I briefly taught at Canoga Park High School. Besides teaching, I enjoy doing yoga, shopping at the farmers' market, and hanging with my kids, Hazel and Russell. All summer, I've been trying to grow vegetables in my backyard, but I am an awful farmer After I graduated from El Camino Real High School, I went to UCSB. Go Gauchos! After college I moved to Spain where I taught English. I didn't teach English literature, but rather, English language to Spanish speakers. I even learned Spanish. I then returned to the valley and started work on earning my teaching credential. Many people ask me about my favorite part of teaching. I always tell them: my students make me laugh everyday.
